Call for Abstracts / Papers

The GeoManitoba 2025 abstract submission phase is now complete (over 400 abstracts were submitted!) and authors have been advised of their submission’s acceptance.

 

Authors of accepted abstracts must submit their papers/extended abstracts by April 30, 2025, accompanied by one full conference registration. Details for CGS and CPA submissions are outlined below.

 

CGS Submissions

Full technical papers are required for CGS submissions. All papers must be submitted through the GeoManitoba 2025 online paper management system by April 30, 2025. All authors must use the paper template and follow the guidelines provided when preparing their papers.
 

CPA Submissions

Authors submitting to CPA themes may submit a full paper or an extended abstract, which must be submitted through the GeoManitoba 2025 online paper management system by April 30, 2025. All authors must use the full paper or extended abstract template and follow the guidelines provided when preparing their paper or extended abstract.

 

Registration Requirements

At the time of paper/extended abstract submission, one full conference registration must be completed by one of the authors. Note that authors are limited to two papers/extended abstracts per registration. If your submission is not accepted by the Technical Committee, you will receive a full refund of your conference registration fees.

 

Details and Timeline

The GeoManitoba 2025 Technical Committee will review all papers/extended abstracts for clarity, technical merit, and relevance to the conference. Our goal is to inform each corresponding author of their paper/extended abstract’s acceptance by June 25, 2025. In cases where the reviewing team feels revisions are necessary, online comments will be provided. All authors must submit a final paper/extended abstract by July 9, 2025.

 

GeoManitoba 2025 will include a poster session with dedicated time in the conference program. Authors can indicate their preference for oral or poster presentation when they submit their paper/extended abstract. The Technical Committee will also review all papers/extended abstracts for making final decisions on participation in the oral or poster presentation program.

 

During submission, authors will also be able to indicate if they would like to be considered for the Best Case Study Paper, Best Student Paper, or CARMA Best Paper in Rock Mechanics.

 

All accepted papers/extended abstracts, for which at least one author has registered for the conference, will appear in the published proceedings of the conference – each attendee will receive the electronic proceedings as part of their registration package.
